We had a great time in Oklahoma and didn't want to leave! Charly caught her very first fish, swam on her own for the first time (with a life jacket of course), and rode her first horse. So lots of firsts for her there! I will post the pics to Snapfish as soon as I can, there are so many awesome ones!
Charly started school last week--full-time preschool. This officially marks the beginning of her school "career." And also marks the first time I've had hours to myself every day since before I was pregnant! So I've been slowly catching up on projects, including house cleaning. Ick. But I've also been dabbling with designing a little, and have decided to create a blog just for my "scraplife," lol. My design name is Silly Beans Scraps, after what we call Charly. Cute ain't it? And as far as scrapping goes, I'm now making ads for three designers, making previews for one, and doing regular duties for another. So, altogether I'm on 5 CT's. Woohoo! And Maria is almost done working on a super-secret project that I'll be able to talk about any day now, as soon as it's officially announced. It may mean some awesome stuff for me!
In other catchup news: I'm trying to get the 2008 pictures finished up so I can post them to our Snapfish group. For those of you who haven't been invited, let me know and I'll get you the info. It's a private group for Charly's family, and is where all the pictures will be going from now on. It's way cheaper than MyFamily.com (ie: free). I also plan on working out at least three times a week, but I want to get the house in order and get caught up on projects a little first. And no, I'm not procrastinating, just busy. I knew schooltime was coming and I let things get a little piled up. God bless my wonderful husband for putting up with it! I'm planning on having my first yard sale ever on Sept 20th. Yay! So I have a couple weeks left to go through everything (and I do mean everything) to sort out stuff for the sale. I think I'm going to lose my mind preparing for it, but I keep trying to tell myself I won't, lol. I just hope people actually buy our stuff.
I start a Beth Moore women's study on Friday. I was supposed to go yesterday, but Nate had the day off and Charly still had school, so I got to hang with hubby. That was pretty cool, spending time together when it's not 11 o'clock at night. So the women's study should be really fun, I know a lot of the women already, but it'll be a nice way to hopefully bond with more people, so Heidi doesn't have to be the only person I hang out with socially, *wink. Here's the book we'll be studying, To Live Is Christ:
On August 9th Charly actually pedaled her bike all by herself for the first time. It's a pretty big thing cuz for some reason it's just completely hard for her to do it. And it's hard for us to try and figure out a way to teach her to do it. But isn't she just too cute!?
And here's the video of her doing it, the quality is a little lacking, but hey, it's my first Youtube video!
And no, the pic and vid aren't two different days. She has two bikes, lol. Spoiled, I know.
This year's Awana also started last week and Charly is in her 2nd year of Cubbies. For those of you who may not know, Awana is a once-a-week program for kids to help strengthen their faith in and knowledge of Jesus Christ, and is another way to strengthen their Christian beliefs on the whole. It's a lot of fun, and Nate is a worker this year, helping with the games. I'm volunteering in the nursery. I'm still contemplating joining the church choir, they really need people, but I'm still so shy about that! I just keep hoping I can lead or help with a little kids' choir that I've been asking the music pastor to start for some time. The only kids' choir we have starts at 1st grade. I offered to do it, so we'll see what happens. He may not even remember that I offered.
So yeah, we've been super busy! And for the most part, I like it that way. :) As I always promise at the end of one of these long update posts, I'm going to try to keep this thing updated more regularly. We'll see!
I miss everyone!
